Why Give Up on Fitting In

Why do we desire to fit in?

Why do we want to be just like everyone else, to blend in with the crowd, to be the same as the people around us? Is it really what we want?

Maybe the reason we want to fit in so badly is because we’re afraid of standing out. Maybe we’re afraid of showing our true colors. Maybe we’re afraid of rejection or judgment or vulnerability.

But the truth is that we shouldn’t fear any of this! Why? Because God made us exactly as we are for a reason. And He wants to use us to bring Himself glory. Psalm 139:14 says “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made…”

So stop hiding your true self! Instead, be bold and know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by the king of the universe.
