“To have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, til death do us part.”
On the day you married your spouse, you made a vow. In front of all your family and friends, you promised to love your spouse forever.
But then life happens and things get hard. You lose your job, money becomes tight, your child fails his classes, or your parents get sick. And all of a sudden, staying together seems like an impossible task.
So what can we do? We must remember the sanctity of our vows. We must remember the commitment we made. We must remember that sometimes better comes after worse.
And if you need a reminder of how to love well, just look at 1 John 3:16 which says “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us.”
So how can you love your spouse well this week? Share your ideas in a comment!
