How to Have Integrity

Daily Huddle Integrity

In this day and age, integrity is hard to find.

There is too much selfishness and too many shortcuts. There is too much laziness and too many loopholes. People would rather cut corners than practice patience. People would rather achieve success than achieve selflessness.

But integrity is not some unattainable form of perfection. It’s simple.

Coach Dungy puts it this way: “Integrity is keeping your word.

Wow! So when push comes to shove, integrity simply means sticking to your word, carrying out your promises, and remaining true to yourself. What a wonderful way to live!

How to Work with Purpose

We all crave success.

We crave to be known, to be honored, to be praised for our work. Why? Because we think success will bring us satisfaction. Because we think success will bring us affirmation. Because we think success will bring us happiness.

But the truth is that there is only one thing that will bring us satisfaction, affirmation, and ultimate happiness: a relationship with God.

Only when we live our lives for God will we find contentment. Because living a life for God means doing our work with purpose. When we work to bring God glory, we stop working to bring ourselves glory. And we find that this is the best way to work!

So join us in using our careers to work well for and bring honor to God!

Recognizing the Significance of Marriage

Tony and his wife Laura know the significance of marriage.

It’s a beautiful gift from God that we should never take for granted. It’s what brings us joy, peace, and love! But when Tony said “To whom much is given, much is required,” he definitely had it right! A strong marriage doesn’t just appear. Instead, it requires 3 things…

1. A strong marriage requires RESPECT: It all begins with respect. In order to build a solid foundation, you and your spouse must respect one another. So be sure to respect your spouse with your words, your actions, and even your thoughts.

2. A strong marriage requires PATIENCE: Next, you need to be ready and willing to put in the effort for a strong marriage. This means patiently loving and caring for and serving your spouse. Despite your own selfish desires, a strong marriage requires you to put your spouse first.

3. A strong marriage requires PRAYER: And most of all, a strong marriage requires prayer. Pray for your spouse to experience peace, wisdom, and humility. Pray for their character. Pray for their safety. Pray for their growth. Pray that they would be encouraged, challenged, and loved. The list goes on and on…

How to Be Present in Your Marriage

Daily Huddle ferris

When it comes to marriage, being present means being a winner.

There are so many distractions in life. From meetings to movies, parenting to planning, the list goes on and on. But succeeding in marriage requires us to be present. So how can we do that? Well today, let’s talk through how you can succeed in marriage by being present physically and emotionally.

  1. Be Present Physically: First and foremost, it’s crucial that you’re present physically. Sure calls and texts are meaningful in a marriage. But nothing can replace actually being together. That’s why we want to encourage you to get home on time, make plans together as a family on the weekends, and be near your spouse as much as possible.
  2. Be Present Emotionally: Next, it’s important to be present emotionally with your spouse. It’s one thing to be sitting next to your wife on the couch. But it’s a whole other thing to be engaged in conversation with them. So put down the remote, put down your cell phone, and put down the computer. This allows you to choose being present emotionally with your spouse!

How to Trust God When Times Get Tough

Life gets tough. Life gets hard. Life gets overwhelming.

But through it all, God is with us. And God promises to stay by our side. Joshua 1:9 tells us, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Once we stop trusting the things of this world, we will be able to fully trust in God. God is good and sovereign and all-powerful. So when things go wrong, remember these words from Tony Dungy: God can see the entire picture, even when we cannot.

Bringing God Glory with Your Marriage

In this day and age, it’s all too easy to give up on our marriages.

Why? Because we’ve come to believe the lie that marriage is about making us happy.

But the truth is this: marriage isn’t about making us happy…it’s about bringing God glory. Marriage wasn’t created to serve us, it was created to serve God. Marriage is about making sacrifices, putting your spouse before yourself, and loving your spouse through their flaws. Because this is what God has done for us.

Marriage is one of the best pictures of the Gospel. It’s an opportunity for us to daily put aside our own desires to selflessly serve our spouse and show them grace. So instead of focusing on the hardships, focus on finding ways to love your spouse and love God!

Be sure to comment below and share with us what you love most about your marriage!
