The Value of the Valleys

Life is full of mountaintops and valleys.

We reach the mountaintops when we find the love of our life, when we have our first child, when we land our first job, when we buy our first house, and when we find a best friend.

But then there are the valleys. The times when you and your spouse lose trust in one another, the times when your kids rebel against you, the times when you realize you’re unhappy in your career, the times when your house floods and you lose your things, the times when your friends get sick and aren’t sure they’ll make it.

1 Peter 1:7 says “…so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

In other words, God doesn’t let us walk through valleys just to experience pain. Instead, He takes us through hard times in order to refine our faith and grow our love for Him. He is able to take even our darkest moments and use them for good. How incredible!

We want to hear how God is working in your life. So comment below with your story!
