The Daily Dilemma: Money vs. Memories

All fathers want to provide for their children–it’s built into our DNA.

So we get a job and work hard with the hopes of making enough money to keep our family satisfied. We want our children to live comfortably and get what they need.

But all of a sudden, we find ourselves going into the office early and staying there late. We begin working weekends and taking calls from home. We begin missing out on important events, like our daughter’s soccer games and our son’s award ceremonies. We begin forfeiting memories for a little extra money.

Do you want to know a secret? Your kids won’t remember how nice their clothes were or how expensive your family car was or even how many toys you got them for their birthday. But what they will remember is how much time they spent with you. So dads: spend time with your kids today and every day! Put down the phone and pull your kids into your lap, making sure to tell them how much they are loved.
