Noticing God in the Little Things

Every day, we have new experiences. We meet new people, accomplish new goals, and experience new things. But unfortunately, we often don’t take notice of the small things that happen. We’re too busy looking for big moments that we miss the little moments of joy that God is scattering throughout our lives.

So how do we refocus and open our eyes to all the ways God is working in our lives?

In Romans 8:28 we’re told, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” In other words, it’s not just in the big, exciting things that God works. It’s also in the little day to day moments, too…

It’s when our daughter reaches up to hold our hand. It’s when our spouse sends a text to say they’re thinking of us. It’s when our son says he’s thankful for everything we do for him.

Because yes, God works in huge and miraculous ways. But He’s also a God who knows the number of hairs on your head and has your name engraved in the palm of His hand. What an amazing God we serve!
